As SCA transitioned into CEPAC and moved from multinational to leading independent, change was always likely to figure high on the agenda.

Soon after the acquisition by CEPAC in early 2013 we introduced NVQ Level 2 Business Improvement Training (BIT) there is no selection criteria, all employees are encouraged to participate in lifelong learning and TACS Ltd have been flexible and met our needs with minimum impact to the business.

On one hand the key operational reason for this commitment is to promote the lean philosophy with continuous improvement training, moreover the combination of techniques and mind-set that drive performance and value for our customers. TACS Ltd have worked closely with the management team to understand the business and its customers, linking this understanding into the learners training enabling the business to move forward as one.

TACS Ltd recently completed a Lean Office programme with SEMTA the Sector Skills Council for Science, Engineering & Manufacturing Technologies, The administration department completed the programme which resulted in achievement of the Business Improvement Techniques (BIT) NVQ Level 2. The team worked on a number of projects looking at the efficiency and safety of the office.

TACS Ltd recently completed a Business Improvement Techniques NVQ Level 2 in Tridonic.The assessment team had to be flexible when it came to delivering the program, to fulfil the needs of the learners.

“The learners were understandably concerned at first as to how they would fit the time in to complete this qualification along with their day to day working and their Green Belt projects, however, these concerns quickly vanished. This was due mainly to the efforts of the assessor who was extremely flexible and understanding and scheduled the visits around when it best suited the learners. The assessor built up a very good working relationship with all learners and this relationship certainly helped to meet the time scales.”
